The original idea of lightbulb and lampshade came from a woodwork project for which a found object was being mutated. The wood sculpture piece-an angular lampshade-was unsuccessful due to mistakes of measurement. I decided to continue this idea for the Transmutation project. Out of several sketches I chose the idea of a lampshade that doesn't cover the light underneath. To further challenge my skill I want the lampshade to make an umbrella-like motion. In the finished piece the lampshade should flip up the moment the lightbulb lights up.
